Lon Brauer

Lon Brauer is a painter and photographer living and working in Granite City, IL. After years as a successful figurative painter, Lon jumped into plein air and has been actively pursuing a career avenue in landscape. Lon was an invited Featured Artist at the Door County Plein Air in 2013. He has participated in numerous outdoor painting events and truly loves the adventure of it all.  The immediacy, spontaneity, and self-imposed limitations of plein air add a special charge to the activity. Lon’s current work in plein air painting is an impressionistic use of paint and materials to create images that challenge the viewer with a new perspective on the landscape genre.
